Beneath these Western Skies.....

'I got peace of mind and elbow room I love the smell of sage in bloom-Catch a rainbow on my fishin' line-We got county fairs and rodeos, ain't a better place for my kids to grow... beneath these Western Skies....' Chris LeDoux
The lyrics of this song, sum up how I feel about living in Oregon. Okay, I don't fish that's true, but I used to with my dad... . I continue to be amazed at how beautiful Oregon truly is. Each day on our way into school and work the girls and I comment on how pretty the mountains look with the clouds around them, or watch the white water rapids as we cross the river each morning. We love skiing, junior rodeos, hiking up Mt. Pisgah which is just a few miles from our home- to the sounds of the rushing of the Willamette River in our backyard, spending time on the coast and OCCASIONALLY enjoying a duck game, although if a Husker game happens to be on at the same time, we all know what takes precedence. If you ask Kennedy the Huskers come first, THEN the Oregon State beavers, as seen in the pictures. Being able to drive over to Redmond to watch the girls compete in the junior rodeo's over there has been so much fun! And believe it or not, sleeping in the nose of the horse trailer really isn't that bad!

Beavers won the game that night, and as the rain came down I told Kennedy "God must've been a duck fan" in which she replied "those are tears of joy mommy!"

'Well, I just smile because they don't understand.....But if they ever saw a sunrise on a mountain mornin'.......Watched those cotton candy clouds roll by....They'd know why I live beneath these Western Skies'~ Chris Ledoux
